Kamehameha and Emma, King and Queen of Hawaii

On November 28th, the Episcopal Church commemorates the lives of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma of Hawaii.

That’s the Episcopalian way of saying they’re saints on our calendar. Note the small s.

King Kamehameha and Queen Emma are held up by the Episcopal Church as examples of good leaders, who put the care and welfare of their people first.

And also? Queen Emma is likely the only saint on the calendar who played the ukulele.
