Mary Sue Is(eth)

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ‘  Luke 12: 18-19

Bonjour! I am Mary Sue! Nice ta meetcha!

I live in North Portland again, after a three year detour in Southeast. I will often be identified by my pale skin peeking out from under a NaNoWriMo t-shirt. Right now, my life is consumed with Leverage, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Psych, Justified, and NCIS.

I have a BA in Social Science (specializations in Global Politics of the mid-20th Century and Public History, plus a minor specialization in Apocalyptic New Religious Movements) and a M.Ed. in Cross-Cultural Teaching. I’m getting certified in Databases and SQL and Oracle.

I’m currently working as a Buyer in a Big Ol’ Hospital. I shall let Joss Whedon explain my job to you:

Buffy: I’m going to be a buyer.
Merrick: Of what?
Buffy: I dunno. It’s just a job I heard of. Sounded pretty cool, you know? Buyer, buying, to buy… I like that.

I speak five languages, all badly. I play ukulele, badly.

I don’t have cable TV, because the money I would have spent on that goes to comics. Deadpool is my absolute favorite, followed closely by Jamie Reyes’ Blue Beetle and Molly from Runaways.

I often have my Pokewalker on me, but the Nintendo DS is sometimes at home. There is always a book in my purse, either science fiction, urban fantasy, or a religious text. Because I’m also a church nerd.

  1. Followed your comment on my blog back here to see who you might be, and just have to say, I am endlessly amused that there exists an actual fangirl whose legal name is Mary Sue. \o/!

  2. I followed a link on EZ Folk and ultimately ended up here. I like the title of your blog and some of your verbal amusements. Do you find that although you may play the uke badly, that you love it and can’t put it down. I have an e-friend Jeanne Ceciliani at the PUC, do you know her? Jeff
