I hate mayonaise, so I look for recipes that are shelf-stable anyway.
1/2 lb small pasta (orzo or broken up spaghetti work lovely)
2 c frozen green peas
2 T bacon grease or butter
salt and pepper to taste
Boil the pasta as you do, and about a minute before it’s al dente, drop in the frozen peas. Drain, reserving a quarter cup of the water. Mix in the bacon grease or butter along with the reserved water while still hot, then add salt and pepper.
